The best-known areas of Mallorca for cycling are the North Zone and the Sierra de Tramuntana, and they are ideal enclaves for cycling, but just like the rest of the island. In Mallorca you will find incredible routes throughout its length!
Today we will focus on the Levante Zone, where the Cala Torta viewpoint is located. In the municipality of Artà, specifically in the Parc Natural de la Peninsula del Llevant, there is the road to Cala Torta beach. Unfortunately, the end of the road is not paved and it will be impossible to access the beach with a road bike, but the viewpoint and the ramps will be worth it!
The climb up this road becomes more difficult until you reach the Cala Torta viewpoint, where you will enjoy incredible views. We recommend that you do not stop and continue along the road, descending to where the asphalt road ends. Once down, it's time to go back up the ramps you just went down, with an average gradient of 9% until you reach the Mirador again. Now, we do recommend that you take a breath and enjoy the views from the viewpoint before continuing with the route. This climb is also known as 'Coll des Racó',
This is the segment corresponding to the outward and return journey of this section on Strava: https://www.strava.com/segments/21344212
This segment will test your legs while you enjoy the surroundings in the natural park. On the way back, don't hesitate to stop in Artà and have a drink in its cobbled square.
